Stonehaven recognizes that education happens both inside and outside the walls of the classroom.
We are called to train children to be socially healthy so that they can successfully interact with people in every area of life. Stonehaven endeavours to train children in several areas and disciplines of life including art, music, athletics and travel. It is critical for a school to educate children on how they are to behave and live responsibly before God in these areas. Virtues such as integrity, diligence and teamwork can be enhanced greatly through athletic participation. Understanding absolutes such as beauty, goodness and truth are seen through images in art and the sounds of music. Treating one another and others with respect, love and kindness are tested when traveling. As students participate in these activities, teachers embrace another chance to teach them biblically how to behave. Surrounded with a Biblical worldview and Godly mentors, the children at Stonehaven are guided by love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22,23).
Stonehaven has nurtured a rich community and school life through athletics, enrichment programs, class trips, field trips, and academic competitions.
Stonehaven's academic program integrates a daily liturgy of Christian devotion into the routine of the student's daily activities. The daily schedule is immersed with prayer, worship, singing, contemplation, and Bible reading.
The athletics program seeks to build into student-athletes self-confidence, discipline, responsibility, and perseverance.
Stonehaven believes that schools should be training in their children a healthy habit of risk-taking. The Pathfinders program nurtures courage, teamwork, and leadership...
Each grade level enjoys a minimum of three field trips per year where our children are able to experience the education they are receiving.
Organically, our school has developed a variety of academic competitions that further encourage particular intellectual pursuits in our students. These competitions include the Spelling Bee, Geography Bee, Poetry Reading Competition, and Pi Recitation.
From piano lessons to drama club, we seek to offer a variety of additional programs that nurture particular, creative gifts possessed by our children.
While the academic education is excellent, we love the way Stonehaven fosters love for God and others, and the way it is so evidently a focal point for the faculty and families.
